Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) politics took a fresh twist this week on Wednesday when a senior manager who was reinstated last December was suspended again.

Lands and Facilities manager Golesedi Chankuluba returned to work on Wednesday this week from leave only to be slapped with a letter of suspension pending a disciplinary hearing set for January 21. Mmegi Sport is reliably informed that the BNSC has not taken kindly to a move adopted by Chankuluba to involve external parties in her previous suspension.

Previously, Chankuluba and two of her Lands and Facilities staff members Gakenaope Boy and Omponye Radinotshe were suspended on allegations of misappropriation of funds and property. There were further allegations that the trio was responsible for a missing BNSC truck and a water bowser. BNSC sources show that upon her reinstatement last year, Chankuluba sought legal services from private attorneys to compel her employer that had widely publicised the suspensions to use the same medium to announce the reinstatements and to apologise for the unwarranted suspensions.
