Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) chairperson, Solly Reikeletseng, told affiliates during the Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) that funds from government were insufficient, hence the need to revive SFT.
The fund, created in 2001, but has remained dormant but now efforts are underway to revive the programme. As part of its effort to bring the trust to life BNSC has appointed former Botswana Defence Force (BDF) commander, Tebogo Masire, as its patron.
The BDP as a party known to have ample resources has always held its primaries well in time, but this time around that was not the case. The first leg of the primaries was held last weekend, with the final leg being billed for the coming weekend. This time around, the BDP failed to shine in its primary elections.
