The Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) is still struggling to raise enough money for the Botswana Games to be held in December.

The games' budget is estimated at P6.2 million but the council has raised P3.2 million.
Botswana Games general manager, Tuelo Serufho declined to say how far they have gone in trying to bridge the P2.7 million shortfall. He appealed to the business community to come to their aid so that they can host a successful event.

He is hopeful that the games will be staged even if they do not get sufficient funds. He acknowledged that if they do not get enough money, the quality of the event might be compromised because they envisage a tournament of international standards. Despite the struggle to raise funds, Serufho said preparations for the event are at an advanced stage.
