BNSC affiliates return to the National Stadium

The National Stadium is now ready to house offices of sports organisations after renovations, Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) spokesman, Modipe Nkwe has said.

As a result, the organisations, which had temporarily shifted base to Maruapula because of the refurbishments, will move back to the National Stadium on Monday. The BNSC has been renting offices in Maruapula for its affiliates for the past two years after the National Stadium was closed for a face-lift. After the renovations, even some sports' codes that initially did not have offices at the National Stadium will get space. Nkwe said the completion of refurbishment of offices at the National Stadium is a relief to the council which was using a lot of money to rent offices in Maruapula. The council spent P22,000 monthly in rentals.

Nkwe said the BNSC secretariat will still be renting offices at the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) complex due to space constraints at the National Stadium.
