The Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) has agreed on areas of cooperation with a Chinese sports delegation. BNOC and the Chinese said yesterday at a consultative meeting that they have identified exchange programmes, sports exhibitions and other forms of people to people interaction as possible areas of cooperation.

BNOC said there is need for regular attachments of Botswana athletes and coaches to appropriate sports academies in China in preparation for major competitions to enhance performance. BNOC suggested to the delegation that China can donate sports equipment and attire to Botswana.

The donations can be targeted at young Batswana athletes who in most cases are economically disadvantaged. BNOC president
Negroes Kgosietsile told the delegation that in Botswana they would like to strike cooperation deals in Olympic sports like athletics, badminton, gymnastics, table tennis and swimming.
