BMC insist Sandaka is going nowhere

BMC has refuted reports that striker Sageby Sandaka could be on his way back to Gaborone United (GU) during the January transfer window.

The team's public relations officer, Beach Mooketsane said they were aware of such reports and that some of their supporters have also expressed concern about the speculation. He, however, assured the supporters that the Zimbabwean marksman would not be leaving. "We had a six-month contract with Sandaka but we have already started negotiating for a longer deal and I can assure you the deal is as good as sealed," Mooketsane said.

Although Mooketsane did not reveal much, Mmegi Sport understands that the reason for offering Sandaka a short-term deal was because of his previous disciplinary record. The forward was off-loaded by GU after he was accused of leading a rebellious section of players to demand better pay and bonuses after the Gaborone giants won the championship. He was snapped up by Mochudi Centre Chiefs, but the same problem of ill discipline followed him, hence he found himself without a club at the end of last season.  Coach Daniel Nare hesitantly brought him to Lobatse and he has since delivered and apparently ditched his wayward ways.
