Blunt GU hope to fire against Chiefs

A capacity crowd is expected to descend on the Molepolole Sports Complex tomorrow as two giants, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Gaborone United (GU), lock horns in the biggest be MOBILE Premier League clash of the weekend.

Four points separate the two sides, with Chiefs leading the pack on 18 points from seven games. GU's star players, Alphonso Modisaotsile and Mandla Mgadla returned from suspension against BMC last Sunday, but still, the 2009 champions failed to break down stubborn BMC in a 0-0 draw. A loss against Chiefs could see their quest to catch up with log leaders look gloom. A clash between the two sides in recent years has never failed to thrill, with the most memorable for GU supporters being the 2008-2009 final match, which they won 1-0. Wellington Maposa's solitary strike handed GU their first league title since returning from the lower division in 2005.

The match will see Noah Maposa face his former side for the first time since his controversial move to GU at the beginning of the season. Ronald Chikomo could once again play a key role tomorrow. His work rate and ability to raise his game in big matches, could be crucial as GU seek to test Chiefs' resilience. Chiefs on the other hand seem to be thriving where others are struggling, scoring goals with monotonous regularity.
