The Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA) says it is pleased with the level of competition during the 2017 junior schools ball sport games held over the weekend. The national competitions attracted 230 schools from all corners of the country that have competed well from their regions with 35,000 students taking part.

The national ball sport contests from football, table tennis, netball, softball, volleyball, and basketball amongst others started on Friday in the group stages.  The following day, the teams faced off in the semi finals before the exciting finals took place on Sunday. BISA president, Joshua Gaotlhobogwe said they are happy with the level of competition they saw on the field. He said the association is surely achieving its objective, which is to give the students an opportunity to compete at the national level.

“The kind of growth we have observed from these games is an outstanding one. All participants strive for medals, which makes the competitions tough and interesting. This year we are on the fourth year of the project that we have started. Therefore, I would like to thank Copa Coca-Cola Company for their support in ensuring that kids are encouraged to participate in sports,” Gaotlhobogwe said.
