BOBONONG: Assistant Minister of Agriculture and MP for Bobirwa Shaw Kgathi has urged the Botswana Football Association (BFA) to view the idea of constituency league in a positive light and integrate it in their structures.

Speaking during a prize-giving ceremony in Bobonong recently, Kgathi expressed concern that while the league is geared towards enhancing sports development, others view it as drifting into the BFA mandate. "What worries the most is that BFA looks at it as interference. They should embrace and integrate it into their structures because even the way they select the national team has loopholes and one-sided.

The constituency league is an important structure to help BFA improve. In fact BFA should appoint talent scouts throughout all the constituency league games instead of concentrating on the winning team," Kgathi said. He said it is regrettable how BFA views constituency football including threats to report the matter to FIFA, the International Association of Football Federations.
