Botswana Football Association (BFA) has distanced itself from reports in the foreign media about the Zebras' friendly game against Harambee Stars of Kenya.

Acting chief executive officer (CEO) Sonnyboy Sethibe told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he had seen the report but the association was unaware of the game.  Supersport website quoted Hussein Swaleh who is said to be on Harambee Stars' management board confirming his side's date with the Zebras. "We can confirm that Harambee Stars are going to play Botswana in an international friendly on October 1, and this match will be used to prepare the team before they face Uganda Cranes," he told Supersport.com.

Sethibe said that they are looking at arranging a match for the Zebras on the next FIFA date in October but added that Kenya has not appeared on the list of the teams being considered. Zebras have already qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next January.
