BFA plans to retain Bright

Contrary to expectations, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) might retain David Bright as national Under-23 coach.

Bright was supposed to step down after last Saturday's 2-0 win over Morocco in the Olympic Games' qualifiers but word from BFA is that he might be convinced to stay.

The BFA says that it is still to meet with the coach to discuss contractual issues but hopefully this will happen soon. BFA chief executive officer Tosh Kgotlele said that a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on Monday to discuss the Bright issue did not come up with a definite solution. "We were not all there and hopefully we will meet soon to discuss the matter. The other thing is that Bright is not around," he said. He stated that the BFA does not have problems with offering Bright a contract because he is a committed and knowledgeable coach. He said that very soon they will come up with an amicable solution.
