BFA fires Mookodi

Headhunted Botswana Football Association (BFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Judge Mookodi has been fired after eight months in the hot seat.

He was reportedly shown the door by his superiors last week for underperforming during the six months' probation he was given to prove his worth. A source close to developments says the CEO should have left the office in March when his probation ended. However, the BFA president David Fani dragged his feet in sending the CEO packing until recently when the executive committee demanded answers from him.

Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the Zebras and Malawi was Mookodi's last official duty. Eyebrows were raised last week when Fani left the CEO behind for the FIFA executive committee elections in Zurich, Switzerland. Sources say Mookodi never had peace at BFA because of sabotage from within.
