The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has announced the three Under-20 teams that will take part in the Zone VI tournament and the COSAFA Cup. The women's Under-20 team will compete at the Zone VI tournament with one of the two men's teams while the other male side goes to COSAFA Cup.

Both competitions take place in South Africa.Although some may question BFA's decision to compete in the two competitions, the result could be very positive, as it would give experience to a large pool of young players. The men's Zone VI team looks stronger than the COSAFA Cup side.

The COSAFA Cup team consists of players who have not been playing at national level. It is under the tutelage of Innocent Morapedi and Sepheko Motlhagodi. It has three regular campaigners in the national Under-20 team namely Kgololo Leteane, Mollen Mabe and Gaopatwe Seosenyeng.
