Better days for softball coming, assures Morule

Botswana Softball Association (BSA) hopes to stage its delayed competition in August. The association failed to organise the league that traditionally starts in January because there was a lot of confusion as some teams even threatened to boycott it.

Some teams indicated that they would not take part in the Ipelegeng league if funds they contributed for the last year's edition were not re-imbursed.

But BSA president Marumo Morule has assured that they would have a competition any time after winter. However, he would not define the nature of the tournament. "I cannot say whether we are going to play a league or a tournament, but just be assured that there will be something, failure is not an option," Morule said. He said since he has just taken over office, there is a lot of stuff that he needs to sort out. Morule explained that they would use the winter break to consult with all stakeholders to come up with a suitable format. The softball boss refused to disclose whether they have secured a sponsor. However, there are indications that the association is in dialogue with a potential sponsor.
