Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) chief executive officer, Tuelo Serufho is confident the 4x400m will salvage a medal tomorrow morning as the country’s ‘best prepared’ team has thus far flattered to deceive.

Botswana sent what was largely regarded as the strongest team since the debut participation in 1980. The organisers hailed the team as the best prepared ever when the athletes flew out to Rio.

In the 12 member team was 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and 2012 Olympic Games silver medallist, Nijel Amos, former 400m African champion and record holder, Isaac Makwala, the world’s fastest junior 400m runner, Baboloki Thebe and the world’s second best 400m runner, Karabo Sibanda.
