Bears retain softball title

Bears put up a terrific top four innings display to retain the Shell Women's Softball League title after beating Police IX 8-1 at the UB Diamond yesterday afternoon.

The first three innings of the game were fairly balanced before seven top four runs separated the two southern zone clubs. Police took the lead in the bottom one inning, courtesy of an Oratile Hamathi run.

The Jungle Queens then defended very well in the top of the second inning and appeared poised to win as Bears struggled on the bat early in the game.
