Bears put up a dramatic bottom seven inning performance to win the 2011/12 Shell Women's Softball Championship after narrowly beating Wells 7-6 on Sunday afternoon at the National Diamond.

The game had to be decided in the final inning after the two teams were deadlocked 3-3 for the greater part of the game. Thereafter, there were no runs until Bears got themselves on the score-sheet twice in the bottom six inning.

Iponeng Molapong had thrust Wells into the lead a minute into the top one inning before Khumo Gabolekwane added another shortly afterwards. When it was Bears' turn to bat, they shot into the lead courtesy of runs by Keabetswe Mhlotsha, Malebogo Ramaphane and Masego Kwape.
