BDF XI seek redemption

There is no doubt that military side, BDF XI has been a dominant force in Botswana football.

However, last season it was heartbreak and humiliation as Matebele were relegated from the Premier League and had to redeem themselves through the promotion play-offs. Soon after redemption, they parted ways with long-serving coach, Stanley Tshosane who replaced Briton Colwyn Rowe as national team tactician.

For the coming season, Matebele has promised to reclaim its status as one of the top guns of local football. "Our target is to win the league this season," club spokesperson, Spencer Kesebonye told Mmegi Sport yesterday. He said that they landed in a precarious situation last season because they did not have enough firepower. BDF XI started having problems up front after the departure of Bernard Semakwezi and Mpho Mabogo. The two formed one of the deadliest striking partnerships in local football at BDF XI.
