BDF women roll over hapless splinters'

FRANCISTOWN: Acrobatic Katlego Mogae of BDF V women basketball side was in cruise control on Saturday morning, scoring 33 points with six rebounds and several assists as her side throttled a hapless Splinters 108-6.

BDF V took full advantage of a struggling Splinters and went for the kill in the one-sided league match at the BDF Donga courts in Francistown. Though of average height, Mogae blocked her opponents throughout the game and still had time to score.

In the first quarter, BDF V scored 24 points,p while Splinters failed to get any. Splinters' fast breaks were thwarted by poor catching and shooting. In the second quarter, Splinters scored first - a two pointer - giving hope to their few supporters.
However, BDF V recovered quickly and made sure that Splinters did not score again. Like a veldt fire, BDF V attacked the home side from all sides and scored 31 points in the second quarter to make it 55-2 before the break.
