BDF thump Spiking Stars

BDF VI women got their first win of the season when they thumped a disjointed Striking Stars 3-0 in a lukewarm Mascom Volleyball League match at the SSKB on Saturday.

It was a major relief for BDF who lost their opening match of the season to Kalavango last weekend. Ironically, Stars also lost to Kalavango in their opening game of the season and Saturday's defeat was their second.

BDF started well and took a 8-5 lead at the first technical timeout courtesy of two opposition attack errors and a stuff block that thrust them in the driving seat. BDF makeshift centre block featuring Lindi Ramantele was outstanding in the absence of Keitheng Ngoreng who missed the game because she was in Maun for a funeral. It was a close contest with Stars making the difference on transition and BDF on the serve and opposition attack errors.
