BCL funds Phikwe Softball Diamond

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The ground-breaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the proposed Phikwe Softball Diamond was performed on Friday by BCL geaneral manager, Montwedi Mphathi.

BCL mine will fund the P100,000 diamond to be built between the round table house and the boundary fence to the east of Makhubu Club. Mphathi said the Phikwe Diamond will benefit residents of the town and mine employees. "We are working hard to improve other clubs that are already in existence (in the town)," he explained.

Mphathi said BCL will be the main financier of the project assisted by other companies. The facility will be known as the BCL Mowana Diamond Park. The name is inspired by the iconic Mowana tree at the Makhubu Club.
