BCF hosts Turbo Masters Open

Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) will host the 2011 Turbo Masters Open in Maruapula, Gaborone on Saturday.

The event will be for players who are 35 years and above. The BCF said in a statement that it expects more female players to take part in the competition that Turbo Refrigeration is sponsoring for the sixth year running.

Jona Chaka of Poisonous Snakes will be defending his title for the third consecutive year. The BCF said the national team, which faces Zambia in a friendly next weekend, will train with the Under-21 teams. The senior team has Candidate Masters, Providence Oatlhotse, Barileng Gaealafshwe, Ignatius Njobvu, Moakofi Notha and Abel Dzilani, the national champion.
