Botswana rugby team, Vultures have maintained their Division 1B status despite losing their two matches at the 2016 Africa Cup held in Tunisia recently. The Vultures suffered a 20-13 loss to Ivory Coast before a 43-10 defeat to hosts, Tunisia.

Botswana was in Pool A together with Ivory Coast and Tunisia. The pool winners, Tunisia will meet Pool B winners, Senegal in the final to be played in November.

The winner of the match will earn promotion to Division 1A.
