Liverpool legend, John Barnes, has said he is cautiously optimistic about the team’s chances of winning a first league title since 1990. Barnes was speaking at a meet and greet session organised by Liverpool sponsors, Standard Chartered at the new CBD in Gaborone this week.

A left footed midfielder of note during his playing days, Barnes said Liverpool should be content even if they do not finish as champions.

“They have done well, even if they finish third. City have two games in hand.
