Barclays Hands Over Refurbished Tennis Courts

The managing director of Barclays Bank of Botswana, Thuli Johnson, says it is encouraging that Batswana athletes have now graduated from participants to competitors in international sporting events.

Johnson was speaking at the handing over ceremony of the refurbished Lobatse tennis court on Saturday.

"I am happy that these courts will present youngsters with an opportunity to develop their skills and become world beaters. The focus should be on very young children but the elders should also make use of them. I used to get angry when people referred to the Under-20 and Under-23 teams as development sides because I believe development has to start at age three or six," he said.
