An assistant Professor of Medicine at the Havard Medical School, Dr Pieter Cohen has said the banned substance, oxilofrine which two local rugby players took, has dire health consequences.

The two players, Lesedi Cherry and Emmanuel Ntshiwa, were banned for two years with the punishment running until November this year.

Cohen, a practising internist at Cambridge Health Alliance in Somerville, Massachusetts, who has been following Mmegi Sport’s coverage of the ban, said oxilofrine’s side effects include heart contractions.
