Bakwadi confident ahead of AAG

According to one of the local karatekas, Ofentse Bakwadi, who is expected to hoist the country's flag high, said they are doing everything possible to prepare for the competition. The current senior karateka of the year has been one of the dominant forces in karate both locally and regionally.

He told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he is doing everything to get ready for the event to be held in the Algerian capital. The current senior karateka of the year, said however that he is focusing on correcting his old mistakes. "We have been studying the tapes to look at the tactics that the other countries have been applying so that we prepare well for them," he said. His last continental competition was when he competed in the Africa Championships and Bakwadi believes he has gained much international exposure. "The All-Africa Games are much higher in terms of the standard of competition as compared to the Africa Championships but I think my technical and tactical awareness have improved and made me ready for the event," he said.
