BAA throws AGM in doubt

Delegates have vowed the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) Annual General Meeting will not go ahead as scheduled on Saturday because of outstanding issues. The meeting is supposed to be held in Gaborone.

The affiliates say the association should resolve pending issues surrounding two failed attempts to hold an Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) late last year.

The OGM was first abandoned in July because of misunderstandings that arose between leadership and affiliates. The rescheduled December OGM also failed due to financial reasons. Orapa Athletics Club vice chairperson Windy Dintwa questioned how the association could arrange an AGM while there were pending issues.
