BAA seeks new Phikwe Marathon sponsor

The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) is confident the Phikwe Marathon on August 9 will be a success despite the withdrawal of key sponsor, Mascom. BAA spokesperson, Ipolokeng Ramatshaba said they are courting potential sponsors and expect to tie an agreement soon.

The Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) has provided toll free numbers to be used by organisers during event. About 1,000 local and international runners are expected for this year’s event.

Ramatshaba said preparations for the event are at an advanced stage. A committee to put together the event was launched in Selebi-Phikwe on Monday.
