BAA raps Amos over indiscipline

TLOKWENG: The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) has expressed concern over the indiscipline of London 2012 Olympics silver medalist, Nijel Amos.

In their first press conference of the year yesterday, the BAA executive committee said although they could not confirm some allegations levelled against the athlete, Amos has become difficult to manage.The association said it was not even aware of his whereabouts. The BAA said the star failed to fill an anti-doping form, which reflects the whereabouts of an athlete at a given time.

In addition to allegations that the 19-year bought a car and immediately crashed it, the association gathered that he has not been behaving well owing to alcohol abuse.The BAA told the media that they will call Amos to hear his side of the story.The association however admitted that it is not easy to control what Amos does in his social life.The president of the BAA Thari Mooketsi said they are discussing the teenager's education, among other things, with his parents.
