BAA accused of neglecting athletics team

After Botswana's poor showing in the Africa Junior Athletics Championships (AJAC) which ended on Sunday, reports have emerged that the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) neglected the team.

Though hailed as successful, the championships did not pass without drama. The athletes had to be accommodated at team manager, Glody Dube's house after rooms reserved at the University of Botswana (UB) were still occupied by students. 

BAA officials were accused of sitting on the Local Organising Committee (LOC) when they should have spent time preparing the team. BAA president, Moses Bantsi, was seen in the company of LOC president, Solly Reikeletseng, during media conferences even though he was not part of the organising committee.
