Athletics Team Grapple With Injuries

BEIJING: The Botswana athletics team is grappling with minor injuries start before it goes to action at the Beijing Olympics this Saturday.

Coach Bobby Gaseitsiwe said that 400m runner, California Molefe and long jumper, Gable Garenamotse have been struggling with injuries but they will have recovered before the start of the athletics programme. Molefe is afflicted by a harm-string injury and a knee problem. He has received treatment in Malaysia where the athletics team has been training before jetting into Beijing.  Molefe is one of the hopefuls to bring a medal home. He was part of the 4x4 relay team that reached the finals of the 2004 Athens Olympics in Greece.

Garenamotse has a harm-string problem and at the time of going to press, he was undergoing physiotherapy.
