Another stern test for Buffaloes

Minnows Mochudi Buffaloes face another test of character when they tackle giants Gaborone United (GU) in the Coca-Cola Cup quarter-final game at the National Stadium tomorrow.

Buffaloes caused a major upset when they knocked out another big name in Township Rollers a fortnight ago.

This weekend, they seek to continue with the giant killing act when they confront GU. They confront Moya-go-leele after they overcame another giant killer, Stone Breakers away in Letlhakane last weekend. This week, Buffaloes' manager Clement Modise said that playing GU at this stage is not a problem because they have seen them when in action against Notwane at the weekend. Coach Moshe Koitsiwe said they have lost the services of their defensive midfielder, Thabang Tsheko due to suspension. "We are playing an experienced side which came second in the league and for my players to rub shoulders with them (GU players) is something big. The mood in the camp is high but I must admit that it has to be controlled," he said. Koitsiwe asserted that they are not in the quarter-finals by default and they deserve to be treated with respect. Buffaloes welcome back hard-working defender, Onkokame Matsela and Star Ramponwane from suspension. The two were not part of the team which eliminated Stone Breakers. The GU game will be an emotional one for Ramponwane, who was discarded by the Reds at the start of last season. The likes of Kenneth Setshwane, who once played for Extension Gunners and Nico United, Olefhile Modise and Kavezedi Kaveledi, will play a key role for the Mochudi side. "I urge Bakgatla to come and rally behind us as this is the most important game for us. It will be nice if we beat GU and go on to support (Mochudi Centre) Chiefs against Gunners on Sunday," said Koitsiwe.
