* I'll comment when time is right

Olympics silver medalist Nijel Amos has refuted reports that he has gone off the rail due to alcohol problems. The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) this week told journalists that the 19-year old is ill-disciplined. Amos said he did not know anything about the allegations. "I do not know what they are talking about because they have never called me to ask me about such allegations," he said.

The 19-year old, who received nearly P1million after winning silver at the 2012 London Olympics said he would only comment on the matter when time is right. But pressed further, Amos revealed that what surprised him was the allegation that his behaviour has not been exemplary owing to alcohol abuse. "I do not drink alcohol," he told Mmegi Sport.
