The Botswana Football Association (BFA) is expected to unveil a staggering P65 million sponsorship for the Premier League from a US cable TV network next week.

Mmegi Sport understands that what will be the biggest sponsorship in local football was initially scheduled to be announced yesterday. But the announcement was postponed to allow local mobile phone company, Mascom, time to negotiate how they can come on board. Mascom has been the Premier League sponsors for the last three years. Their deal with the BFA ended this year.

Mmegi Sport is informed that by Tuesday this week, a rival local company was determined to beat any Mascom deal for the naming rights, one of the small components of the sponsorship, which is still being ironed out.  Mascom public relations manager, Odirile Motlhale refused to comment referring all questions to his senior, Meshack Mokone. Mokone refused to speak when contacted while the Mascom CEO could not be reached because he was reportedly out of the country. It is understood that US deal will give the Premier League P21 million annually for three years. The sponsorship was signed and sealed by the outgoing Phillip Makgalemele BFA administration. Makgalemele hoped to launch the deal this week but his plans were messed when he lost in the BFA polls over the weekend to David Fani.
