AFCON trophy to tour Botswana

The trophy is expected to arrive in Gaborone on October 26 and will also tour Palapye and Francistown for public viewing. Accompanying the trophy will be two Zebras' players who are also Stanbic Bank Botswana ambassadors, captain Mompati Thuma and Mosimanegape Ramoshibidu.
The same bank brought the 2010 AFCON Cup to the country in 2009. Speaking at the tour announcement, Stanbic Bank managing director, Leina Gabaraane said it would not be possible to take the trophy to more places for security reasons. He would also not share with the media how much the bank has spent to bring the cup to Botswana, but said it was a significant amount. He said bringing the trophy to the country is their "small way of motivating" the Zebras. The bank also wants to give Batswana a chance to view the trophy.
