LOBATSE: The revamped Mascom Volleyball League got underway on Saturday with an exciting series of four matches played at the Lobatse Sports Complex courts.

First to take the court at 10am was Police V men against Spiking Stars. Police, who won the Mascom top eight championship last November by beating powerhouse Kutlwano had an easy way against Stars, hammering them 3-0 to get a good start of the season. Next was Kutlwano women up against Diphatsa in a one-sided game that the 'Big House' easily won 3-0. The Francistown side was no match to the defending champions as they were dominated from the first set. Kutlwano won the first set 25-5 with the Diphatsa youngster completely out of the game committing error after error.

At one point Kutlwano scored 10 straight points through service showing Diphatsa was still far from the experienced Kutlwano side that had just returned from participating in the African Club Championships in Kenya.
