Acid test for Nico United

Early season surprise package, Nico United face their toughest test so far when they visit defending champions, Township Rollers tomorrow at the UB Stadium.

The side from the copper-mining town has taken the Premier League by storm, winning six out of eight games to go joint top with former champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Nico have proved this season that they are capable of winning away from home as evidenced by their 4-0 victory, away to Police XI as well as 3-1 victory over Uniao Flamengo Santos.

An interesting battle is anticipated between leading goal-scorer, Master Masitara and Rollers' defender, Oscar Ncenga. Since returning to Nico, Masitara has regained his scoring form and looks set to be among the top contenders for the Green Boot Award. One of the most underrated defenders in the league, Ncenga has been one of Rollers' best players for the past two seasons. He rarely puts his foot wrong. Amos Godirwang seems to be enjoying his new role as a centre back this season and his partnership with Ncenga will be seriously tested by the likes of Bernard Semakwezi and Masitara on form.
