A1 Hardware athletics sponsorship exceeds P200,000

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The organiser of the A1 Hardware and Electrical kids athletics, Mogomotsi Otsetswe has revealed that the sponsorship for the competition has exceeded P200, 000 over a period of five years.

Otsetswe told Mmegi Sport in an interview this week that the sponsor, A1 Hardware and Electrical had agreed on a P200, 000 sponsorship over a period of five years but at the moment they have exceeded the amount. He said that the sponsor has now increased the money for the 2013 edition of the competition that will be held in Palapye on August 17.

Otsetswe stated that he was not able to say how much they will be spending because there are other side events that the sponsor will introduce on the day. He pointed out that they had also agreed with the sponsor that the competition would be rotated in all places where there are A1 Hardware and Electrical branches but that is yet to happen depending on logistics. He said that the competition, which was scheduled to be held last month, had to be pushed forward following advice from the Botswana Primary Schools Sports Association (BOPSSA).He explained that BOPPSA advised them that the competition could not be held in June because the weather was not suitable for children and that schools had gone for end of term break.
