The Reds made a good start to the season and never looked back losing only one game in that season against BDF XI in the first round. They remain one of the top performers of this year if not the best. They beat Chiefs 1-0 in the last game to clinch the title. Before the game, many analysts gave them no chance against Magosi who were not only winning games but also scoring a lot of goals. GU needed only a draw to clinch the league title but they had one major disadvantage going in to the game, if they lost to Chiefs, they would have missed out on the title as Chiefs had a superior goal difference. It was not to be however as a solitary goal by Wellington Maposa gave the Reds the league title.
Uniao Flamengo Santos
Santos was another top performer this year with their Coca-Cola Cup victory. The youthful side defeated BDF XI in a penalty shoot-out. It was a great achievement for the Gabane side who showed that talent development in football is key. Besides Notwane, they are the only other side in the league who are able to feed from their development sides. This proved so through their consistence in the Coke Cup as they also played in last year's final against Mochudi Centre Chiefs which they lost 5-2.
