Botswana Qualifications Authority says it has so far received 19 applications from Higher Education Providers also known as tertiary education institutions for registration and. accreditation. This is out of a possible 46 tertiary institutions.

Mr Molefe explained that naturally public institutions would struggle with the initial process of registration and accreditation as this is the first time they are being required to apply for accreditation while the private institutions had been subjected to accreditation since the days of the now defunct BOTA and TEC bodies. He was optimistic that these providers have been capacitated and should submitted applications in time to beat the deadline.
