BQA Regulations Move to Protect Enrolled Learners

Botswana Qualifications Authority has moved to ensure that all learners at local registered and accredited Education and Training Providers are protected and enabled to graduate, even in cases when issues arise at the provider forcing it to discontinue the learning programme or to close down.

Education and Training providers applying for accreditation are required by law to design procedures and rules for the protection of enrolled learners; Learner Protection Policies, which they submit with the application for learning programme accreditation.

According to BQA, Manager Customer Service, Bakani Thothe, education providers are required to inform the learner of the detail of the programme to allow them to make informed decision. He further said that there should be provision for refund in instances where the ETP is unable, for whatever reason, to teach the learner until there complete.
