Your Story Was Belated

BotswanaPost would like to express its dissatisfaction on the story on Page 18 of Monitor dated Monday 10 March 2008, entitled "Mail Volume Decline Impinges on BotswanaPost Revenues," by your reporter.

Whilst it is a fact that the mail volumes are declining globally, BotswanaPost strongly feels that the story published is not timely and newsworthy, as this is an extract from BotswanaPost Annual Report 2006/07, which was released in November 2007. The report was immediately distributed to all stakeholders including the media. Therefore, we expected the Annual Report 2006/07 contents to have been published immediately after the release of the report.

On the other hand, we would like to congratulate Mmegi and its sister newspaper, Monitor for the coverage they have been extending to BotswanaPost. We hope to keep those good relations as it his always been the case.
