You too are guilty of too much English

I respond to your editorial 'Far too much English' in the Mmegi 07-11-07 edition. You criticised the President, Festus Mogae, of being insensitive to a signficant part of the population because he delivered his State of the Nation address speech in English rather than in Setswana.

It reads in part "If there is any major criticism of Mogae's presidency, it will be his preference for English over Setswana..."

Yes indeed langauge is part of a poeples way of life;we dissect nature along the lines laid down by our mother tongue.
