We now embark on an extraordinary journey

Democrats have a way of brewing informal assemblies at short notice: That is how a congregation of farmers, businesswomen, students, veterans, teachers and activists from a multitude of constituencies converged on Saturday to weave an ending to Gomolemo Motswaledi's suspension as member of the BDP.

It was an informal gathering that demonstrated once again that at the BDP, the democratic spirit is alive and receiving nourishment, a gathering whose debates invoked and polished the finest of our party's ideals. It was here that democrats spoke a language of fairness, firmness and a focus on the things that matter for our nation. 

When interpreted, it is language by which many democrats now seek the wise intervention (in the impasse regarding Motswaledi's suspension) of our country's marvellous judiciary.
