We cannot be fooled Nkate!

This is a comment on Jacob Nkate's opinion published in Mmegi (03/07/09). I am just an ordinary BDP supporter who was being pushed to being an Independent by President Ian Khama's approach.

I read your piece sir(Nkate) and I for one, have made a decision. I will opt for the lesser evil in this situation. A lesser evil being Daniel Kwelagobe.  Factions have always been part of BDP, but they have never been this ugly. On President Khama's watch, things have gotten out of hand.

In my view, our president seems to believe, whether subconsciously or not, that he is God-sent. Action speaks louder than words. Just look at the u-turns that have been made, clear signs of lack of debate.  And these u-turns don't come cheap. But our President is indifferent. Was it not the then Vice-President Khama who told a gathering in Serowe that President Festus Mogae was prone to blunders? He has been in charge for well over a year. Show me where the economy is heading? Global recession, yes of course. Civil servants have excuses too you know? Our president is now in charge of the most intrusive government that has ever been experienced by Batswana (even if we are to put aside DIS).
