We are now in dictatorship

There is no doubt that the inauguration of Ian Khama Seretse Khama on April Fools Day last year marked the beginning of the end of democratic rule and ushered in a dictatorship in Botswana.

It was also the beginning of the end of the once mighty Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and the setting in of a vibrant political movement led by the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and its allies.

Khama's ascendency to power was greeted with excitement and hope. The words Messiah, Saviour and Great Leader were used to describe the man.
