Vote More BCP MPs For Change

If there are any lessons to be learnt from American politics, then Barak Obama's victory should help change the way politics is played in Botswana.

Obama was not elected for his colour but for the fact that America's economy is in dire straits and needs someone with a revolutionary mind hence different from the old conservative politics and that is what Botswana needs at this juncture of economic down-turn amid the fragmented ruling party that is Botswana Democratic Party.

Obama's story is one of those prophesies that have been a long time coming and that on its own is a lesson that if winds of change are blowing, propaganda and capitalism cannot stop it; neither burying one's head in the sand will take the problem away. The will of the people cannot always be what the society wishes for and the replacement of President Festus Mogae with the royal Ian Khama is one of those disappointments electorates have to live with; as day-by-day Khama's governing-style raises doubts on whether he will reach political leadership longevity.
