Veteran Lekoma's advice to Moupo

In the wake of crisis situations in the BNF the advice of party veterans can play a seminal role in breaking the logjam.

In that respect the intervention of Comrade Kopano Lekoma in a newspaper article (Mmegi, August 5th 2008) on the crisis that has besieged the BNF is important. Although the article does not go into details about the current crisis it makes important points which should not  be given short shrift by all those who are worried about the state of affairs in the party. His views are broadly congruent with the position of the BNF Temporary Platform.

However, the wisdom and experience of party veterans works only if comrades are genuinely making unavoidable mistakes in the course of leading the organization and are therefore willing to take heed of that advice. Various comrades, among them other party veterans, have tried to advise the BNF leader but to no avail. The man does not seem to be amenable to advice anymore. The current crisis has all the hallmarks of hidden agendas and the party image is being tarnished and battered.
