Torture by train - a true story

I could not help but concur with the writer when I recently read a feature article, Torture by Train by a Francistown based Mmegi staff writer (08 August 2008, page 21). At least somebody has managed to share with the public on the undesirable plight of Botswana Railways Train passengers in the economy class.

It is obvious that as the long distance bus fares continue to rise owing to escalating fuel prices, most people have resorted to travelling by BR coaches between Francistown and Gaborone, which is the cheapest. Travelling by BR coaches is cheap, but not luxurious. I also on many occasions have endured the ordeal that is boarding BR coaches. If there is any place that is an epitome of poor service it is BR Trains, ga se tshele leka o ikutlwele.(I m not vilifying them, better try it.)
